Eight years is a long run for any truck stop. On the weekend of September 7–8, 2024, Truck Stop TURN's Nara Hari store marked its eighth anniversary with a Safe Return Festival — and OIRAN JAPAN was there with the demo truck, a booth, and two days of good conversations.

The weekend in numbers

More than 500 visitors came through over the two days, and we counted roughly 300 conversations at the OIRAN booth — drivers, owner-operators, families, and plenty of first-timers meeting decorated-truck culture up close.

What we brought

The OIRAN demo truck did what it does best: stood still and made its presence felt. Seeing the current tail lamp lineup running side by side — sequential turn signals, light bars, the different lens finishes — answers more questions in thirty seconds than any spec sheet. The RC-scale OIRAN truck drew its own crowd — the same playful spirit behind the OIRAN goodies line.

If you are new to this world, dekotora — Japan's decorated-truck culture — is a working culture: the trucks at events like this haul freight on Monday. We wrote a primer here: What is dekotora? Japan's art truck culture.

Why we show up

A "safe return" festival is named for exactly what it sounds like: wishing drivers a safe trip out and a safe trip home. That is also the honest core of what we build — a tail lamp exists so other drivers see you sooner. The style is the signature; visibility is the job.

Eight years of the Nara Hari store means eight years of a place where drivers rest, eat, and talk trucks. Congratulations to the whole team — and thank you for having us.

See it in person, or from anywhere

We bring the demo truck to events across Japan and, increasingly, abroad. Follow OIRAN JAPAN on Instagram and TikTok for upcoming dates, or browse the tail lamp lineup that was on display. Shops that want OIRAN products on their shelves can apply to become a retailer.

Making your presence felt with OIRAN JAPAN — see you at the next one.
